Records and Information Management (RIM) Month for 2010 is fast approaching! April is RIM Month, the perfect opportunity for information management professionals to celebrate and promote the value and importance of information within their organizations and communities.
The Puget Sound Chapter promotes RIMM by collecting proclamations from local government entities within the area. Asking for the proclamations provides an opportunity to educate government dignitaries about ARMA. The issuance of proclamations creates a heightened awareness of the importance of the management of records and information which is critical to every business, organization and government agency facing the complexity of competition, customer service, and globalization. This also includes the aware-ness that control of records and information is necessary for reduction of risk and liability, as well as for compliance with global standards.
Consider preparing an activity or two at your workplace to bring attention to RIM Month! Resources and information are available to help you at ARMA International’s website at http://www.arma. org/rim/promotion/index.cfm. Watch for the new 2010 RIM Month logo.
